The Phantom of the Opera from 16 to 31 December 2023 at the Monte-Carlo Opera [ From category News ] [ Article date: 2023-11-07 ] [ From city Monte Carlo ] [ Country Monaco ]   The Opéra de Monte-Carlo is delighted to present a new staging of The Phantom of the Opera, co-produced with Temple Live Entertainment Ltd and Broadway Italia SRL, from 16th to 31st December 2023. While The Phantom of the Opera has never been produced in France, it can be seen at the Salle Garnier for the very first time… in Monaco, as a playful reference to Gaston Leroux, the author of the novel Le Fantôme de l’Opéra. After the famous Paris opera house where The Phantom’s story takes place, the Opéra de Monte-Carlo is the only other theatre designed by Charles Garnier. Recognised throughout the world as one of the best Phantoms, Olivier and Tony nominee Ramin Karimloo takes on the role of The Phantom, having previously played the role in London’s West End, Korea and in the 25th Anniversary Concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Joining in as Christine Daeé is Amelia Milo, a young Italian American soprano who’s exceptional talent was discovered by Andrea Bocelli, and has performed with him in concerts around the world. Who does not know The Phantom of the Opera? Since its opening in 1986, this record-breaking musical has played all over the world: to over 145 million people, in 183 cities, in 17 languages and has received over 70 major theatre awards, including seven Tonys and four Olivier Awards. On Broadway, its last show took place in April 2023 after a record-breaking 35 years on the playbill.
